  • Proactively prospect, qualify and grow revenue primarily by cold calling.  Depending on sales assignment may have a high percentage of transactional selling with large number of accounts and shorter sales cycle
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of the Post print and digital product portfolio (features, benefits, rates, etc.)
  • Using multiple lead sources, researches, plans and prioritizes prospects of potential customers in order to match customers targeted audience segments with the Post print and digital products
  • Initiates contact with potential customers to establish interest and determine opportunity.
  • Sells within pre-established sales guidelines and rates.
  • Consistently updates and discusses prospecting leads with manager using non-traditional sources such as digital, radio, TV and direct mail
  • Can convey the value that our products (both print and digital) and services have over the competition and uses product knowledge to overcome customer objections
  • Understands how the competition sells their products and services, including rates and specials
  • Complete account transition (normally at time of contract) checklist in order to seamlessly transfer account to Account Executive
  • Create and update marketing presentations and create solution based needs proposals that sell the customer based on information provided by the customer
  • Ability to analyze and interpret key sales metrics and develop strategies to reach sales success
  • Navigate internally with various departments to create compelling media solutions for advertisers
  • Closely works with the Media Sales Coordinator (e.g. communication, paperwork) to ensure accuracy and satisfaction of client fulfillment



  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs



  • 2+ years of business-to-business selling experience.  College degree preferred
  • Superior knowledge of sales techniques including cold-calling, networking, lead generation, all with the ability to capture and close the deal with proven track record of success driving revenue
  • Ability to work independently and be self-driven, with ability to identify, plan and prioritize business opportunities
  • Depending on sales department may require ability to travel
  • Strong presentation, organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities; demonstrated time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Must have valid drivers license and vehicle in order to visit clients on site
