The Wood Room Supervisor, reporting to the Wood Preparing Superintendent, is responsible for the day to day operation of the Wood Preparing. Overseeing a crew of 7-10 people daily, the supervisor is ultimately responsible for overall safety in the Wood Preparing Department, production and troubleshooting as required.



  • Plan and coordinate all day to day operations activities for the Wood Room, Wood Yard and Mill Yard

  • Work with other departments to evaluate production priorities

  • Troubleshoot any production issues with the crew

  • Support Key Performance Indicators (KPI’S) for the department

  • Know and apply collective agreements.




  • Ten years of experience in an industrial production setting, preferably pulp and paper processing

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or process engineering, or a technology diploma in a related area

  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and lead a crew.

  • Good demonstration of leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Proficient use of computer programs: Microsoft Office, CMMS

  • The Successful candidate must be able to work some evenings and weekends

Successful candidate will be required to submit a Certificate of Conduct from a local police agency or the RCMP before commencing employment.
