Associate - Finance & Energy Focus

Associates work as part of a team on challenging and high-profile projects in a collegial and academically-oriented work environment. Associates are central members of each project team and they apply finance and economic theory and practice to disputes and planning problems in energy litigation, utility strategy, regulation, and public policy issues on behalf of our clients.

Associates are responsible for helping to frame research approaches, project management, supervising team/staff, and developing client relationships while building individual expertise. As they gain valuable hands-on project experience, Associates also become more involved in marketing and business development efforts. The Brattle Group is committed to continuous training and development for consultants and works to help develop Associates into Principals as their careers progress.

The associate we seek will be joining our team focused on the interaction of finance, energy and regulation.

Ideal Associate Candidates Will Possess

  • An MBA or a Ph.D. with a focus on Finance and general familiarity with microeconomics and accounting
  • A strong academic foundation in quantitative methods and/or several years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated record of outstanding academic and/or practical accomplishment
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to work on energy and utility industry projects
  • Strong analytic and quantitative modeling skills (including proficiency with analytical/statistical software such as Stata, R, and Excel), along with practical problem solving abilities
  • Experience with accounting and / or regulation is a plus
  • Entrepreneurial drive
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment

How Our Recruiting Process Works

We are seeking Associates to work in our Boston, MA or Washington, DC office.  We are looking to hire both those who can start in the immediate future and across the summer of 2019.
