Writer/Editor

Location: Boston, MA

THE POSITION

The Brattle Group is seeking a skilled Writer/Editor to be based in the firm’s Boston, MA office.  This individual will support the Marketing department and firm by elevating the editorial quality of all internal and external communications.  Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Writer/Editor will collaborate with the Marketing team and with consulting stakeholders to ensure the highest level of editorial quality across all print and digital materials.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Draft, edit, and/or proofread a range of written materials for internal and external audiences, including articles, whitepapers, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, bios and CVs, internal communications, website content, and social media posts
  • Develop and maintain processes for, and provide quality control of, content development within the Marketing department
  • Contribute to the development of effective proposal and pitch materials
  • Assist in evaluating publication opportunities and coordinating with external contacts
  • Maintain and refine Editorial Style Guide
  • Continually develop knowledge and understanding of the firm’s practice areas and related industries
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to provide editorial support to firm- and practice-level marketing initiatives
  • Assist with award and survey submissions
  • Contribute to new and emerging digital initiatives that support the practices’ go-to-market strategies, including but not limited to video, infographics, and other interactive content
  • Contribute to other/ad hoc marketing projects as needed

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be a highly organized and skilled communicator with an adaptable and collegial nature and is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing shifting priorities and concurrent projects.  This individual will also exhibit a clear commitment to producing polished work of the highest standard.  Other requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, English and Journalism majors strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in economic consulting, legal industry, or other professional services firm
  • Exceptional writing skills, with an ability to prepare focused and customized written materials
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively across all parts of the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to exercise excellent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality on matters large and small
  • A top-notch work ethic and a positive, proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as needed
  • Takes pride in working within a high-quality, high-integrity organization
  • Overtime and occasional travel may be required
