We are currently recruiting for a R&D Senior Researcher to operate and maintain laboratory test rigs to develop new Low Temperature Shift (LTS) products. The R&D Senior Researcher role is key to assuring quality of existing products made on JM assets, as well as screening development materials produced in the laboratory and evaluating samples from scale-up trials. The role holder will be instrumental in keeping the testing assets running, analysing data and reporting results to the wider team in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain test rigs to high EHS and quality standards.
  • Carry out the evaluation and analysis of products to support our manufacturing assets and product development projects.
  • Comply with EHS standards and actively identify opportunities for continual EHS improvements.
  • Carry out experiments and interpret results of work, with review on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Prepare reports/summaries on experimental work undertaken, taking into account the project objectives.
  • Provide support to collaborations with internal Operations to reassure quality of LTS manufacture for current and future products.
  • May require some UK based travel (maximum 2-3 weeks per year) to support manufacturing trials.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • A Chemistry degree or relevant Science qualification.
  • Laboratory experience. Catalyst testing experience is desirable, although not essential.
  • An analytical approach and the ability to interpret technical data are essential, along with good technical report writing skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability communicate with people of all levels.
  • Excellent ability to prioritise your workload and ability to adapt to changing priorities with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Good IT skills particularly using Microsoft Office software package to enable validation of test data.
