Efficient Natural Resources is an autonomous business, one of four sectors within Johnson Matthey, with revenues of circa £1 billion (circa £7 billion including precious metals) and operations worldwide.

Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is one of four businesses within the Efficient Natural Resources sector that manages, distributes, refines and recycles precious metals and fabricates products using precious metals and related materials.  The business unit also manufactures platinum group metals, minor metal compounds, organometallics and fine metal powders for high technology applications, as well as providing a range of management services for platinum group metals.

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Planner to manage all planned maintenance activity for R&CE across Royston

Key responsibilities

  • Administer the Maintenance Planning Process as defined in the JM Maintenance Planning Procedure.

  • Develop and issue the short (weekly, monthly), medium and long term (3, 12, 60 Monthly) maintenance plan; working with departments to develop and update the plans.

  • Management of scheduling activities for assets, e.g. resource availability, vendor readiness, materials availability etc. ensuring spare parts availability through spares co-ordination with stores

  • Plan and schedule work packages for routine and non-routine maintenance.

  • Working with the Technical Planner, seek opportunities to improve resource efficiencies.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the planning and scheduling process to improve the Reliability KPI’s

  • Contribute towards the development of PPM plans for site equipment.

  • Participate in activities such as 5S, CES, Root Cause Problem Solving and Standard Work.


Are you the ideal candidate?

You will have:

  • HND/HNC or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role

  • A good level of experience and understanding of Planning, Scheduling and Co-ordination skills in a maintenance role

  • Good knowledge of Asset Management Systems (CMMS) e.g. SAP PM, Maximo, Piranha

  • Understanding of asset integrity and EHS critical equipment

  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft office suite: in particular Excel
