We have an exciting opportunity for an Active Directory Engineer to join the growing team in our Royston Office on a permanent basis.

The Active Directory Engineer provides support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions. The role provides continuous improvement, applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines course of action for new application initiatives, implementing new solutions as required by the business. The core infrastructure technology duties include enterprise Microsoft Active Directory and Identity Access Management, global system security and policy configuration, and top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience with Windows Active Directory, planning, designing, installing, configuring, implementing, migrating and troubleshooting enterprise AD environment, ensuring that Active Directory is managed in accordance to JM standards and procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining AD Forest, Enterprise domains, DNS, DHPC, AD Site topology & Replication, Authentication, Security, Group Policy, AD Disaster Recovery, Public Key Infrastructure, and Client-Side interactions, Azure AD, MFA, PIM / PAM and AD Connect.

  • Knowledge of Active Directory Certificate Services, Role Based Access Control, Active Directory Federated Services, ADAM/Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services, TCP/IP and routing, and PowerShell.

  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft Network System infrastructures environment, SCOM, SCCM, WSUS, DFS & IIS.

  • Responsible for the Active Directory operational roadmap, relating to patches, fixes and upgrades.

  • Ensure that Active Directory is maintained within SLAs for availability, capacity and performance.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery to business units.

  • Accountable for Identity Access management, ensure that the process for setting up for user access management and security groups is adhered to at all times.

  • Responsible for Exchange/O365 sync connection issue resolution, ADFS support and InTune policy configuration maintenance.

  • Create and maintain technical / operation documents for JM Domains, ensure that documentation is maintained and kept up to date in line with JM standards and policies.

  • Provide training as required.

  • Ensure that at all times company Policies, Standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are adhered to.

  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will have:

  • Significant technical experience in Active Directory technical management.

  • A recognised IT qualification or has significant IT experience.

  • Awareness of ITIL principles

  • Technical experience to manage Microsoft Active Directory and Identity Management platforms in Global environment.

  • Significant experience with Active Directory Federated Services, and Enterprise Group Policy Management, Microsoft Identity Management platforms, PKI, Office 365, and Single Sign On.

  • Experience troubleshooting AD replication, AD latency and AD authentication issues
