This role will support the North America Murad Retail Marketing department to manage all aspects of visual merchandising for North American retailers, particularly operations, project management, and logistics.  This candidate will be responsible for managing and executing all visual merchandising updates on the open sell merchandising systems for Sephora US and Canada, SIJCP, ULTA, and Macy’s backwalls and gondolas. In addition, the manager will lead the merchandising operations for special projects such as tester display units and towers as needed.  Once aligned with senior management on the product launch plan, the candidate will project manage all aspects of the updates, work cross-functionally with various teams to implement the execution; liaise with fixture and print vendors through prototyping and approvals; and ensure that timelines and budgets requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have experience with visual merchandising, SKU assortments, display and graphic production, and open sell fixture systems. The ideal candidate possesses a strong sensibility for project management and organization and thrives as the bridge between marketing and creative departments. He or she will work closely with multi-functional groups such as global marketing, sales, creative, vendors and retailers. The candidate is an effective communicator, able to build collaborative relationships with said cross functional teams, operates with a keen sense of urgency, and is a skilled multi-tasker with a “can do” attitude.



Visual Merchandising Operations and Project Management (85%)

  • Serve as VM Operations lead for Sephora US and Canada, SIJCP, ULTA, and Macy’s accounts, from planning through execution cycle. Drive all timelines and for retailer seasonal updates and ensure projects deliver on time.
  • Serve as VM Operations lead for tester units, towers, and shelf displays.
  • Work closely with the retail marketing senior management team to understand new product launches, SKUs, and discontinuation cadence by retailer.
  • Work closely with global marketing to ensure Retail Marketing team has accurate product and packaging sizes with regards to carton sizing.
  • Create planogram maps that show progression of launches and product planning season over season.
  • Create excel-based SKU assortment sheets per retailer that accurately reflect the season's offerings, sales and productivity data, pricing and SKU code numbers.
  • Manage all communications with retailer visual merchandising contact, fixture and graphic vendors, all with intent to ensure timelines, budget, and quality standards are met.
  • Open all creative brief projects to kickoff projects with the creative team. Ensure copy, art direction, and technical drawings are handed over with clear direction in the briefs.
  • Lead the internal review and approval process for all artwork. Communicate feedback or changes to the creative team.
  • With senior management, review fixture prototypes and give feedback as needed to ensure optimized presentation and high quality standards are met.
  • Review graphic proofs from the printer and supply matchprints as needed.
  • Proofread instruction sheets that are sent from fixture vendor to retailer for accuracy.
  • Send out all final renderings to the field teams to ensure they are aware of all upcoming in-store updates.
  • With senior management, review invoices for all projects to ensure that the projects are within the allocated budget and sent to accounts payable.
  • Communicate deliverables clearly and be proactive to make recommendations to prioritize projects should delays arise.
  • Lead team meetings cross-functional teams such as creative, marketing and sales teams to validate timelines and gain approvals.



Visual Merchandising Team Support (15%)

  • Oversee and maintain the merchandising mock store with current planograms and visuals on the Sephora and ULTA fixtures. Order products as needed.
  • Order samples from warehouse to send to retailers or fixture vendors.
  • Organize and maintain all visual merchandising related documents, excel spreadsheets and presentations in an organized format on the shared server.
  • Build and maintain documents that capture latest and greatest VM statistics, such as door formats, lightboxes, and artwork sizes.
  • Utilize brand utilized software management programs such as Smartsheet and Assembla for project management needs and planogramming needs.
  • Help support team for set up of retailer meetings as needed.
  • Explore new processes and software programs that will support project and time management initiatives.




  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience with strong operational background in project management, ideally within a visual merchandising, retail operations, or marketing department.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency and enjoys thriving in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and as a team collaborator.
  • A multi-tasker who can lead, prioritize, delegate, and deliver against varying deadlines. 
  • Extremely organized, detail oriented and operates with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to share information quickly and effectively.
  • Able to be flexible and reactive to changes.
  • Experience managing budgets and ensuring proper protocols are followed to ensure payments are paid through accounts payable.
  • Must be proficient with excel. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Knowledge of planogramming software a plus.
  • Team player who enjoys collaborating with cross functional teams.
  • General understanding of fabrication and print processes.
  • Experience managing fixture and/or print vendors a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
