Why We Need You

PEMCO is seeking a Manager of Product Analytics to lead analytics efforts and team for the Product department. Responsible for ensuring a high standard of support and analysis, as well as professional development of analysts.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage and train a team of analysts performing tasks, such as those listed below
    • Conduct and review product analysis 
    • Use SAS/SQL query programming skills to extract, manipulate and analyze large sets of data to identify relationships and trends in order to recommend improvements in our product pricing
    • Prepare reports to assist in managing each line of business
    • Build tools using Excel, Tableau, etc. to facilitate product decisions
    • Troubleshoot data quality issues - documentation/communication of resolution
    • Research, monitor, interpret and analyze the competitive landscape for market trends and competitor actions
    • Support the pricing and implementation of product changes
    • Prepare cross-functional communication regarding product changes
  • Manage analyst resources, which includes recruiting and developing Product Analysts
  • Ensure a high quality of analytical work within the Product department by setting standard practices and improving processes
  • Advocate effectively for and support the data needs of Product Managers to understand the business and produce outstanding results
  • Take leadership role in special projects, as assigned
  • Assist the Product Managers in the research and development of insurance products 
  • Assess and analyze the potential market for insurance products, including the competitive landscape
  • Assist the Product Managers with the implementation of products, including management of implementation timelines
  • Maintain general knowledge of all insurance products in order to recognize product opportunities and understand market demands
  • Identify and introduce emerging technologies to the department

What You Bring

  • 4-year degree in a STEM discipline. Five years of experience in similar role, or Graduate degree and three years’ experience in similar role 
  • Product management experience required
  • Proficient PC Skills, including SQL, Excel, Access, SAS, Word and basic programming for statistical purposes
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including ability to make effective presentations 
  • Knowledge of advanced insurance concepts and insurance terms and structure
  • Strong analytical skills - must be able to analyze information at both a macro level and a more detailed level and make strategic recommendations regarding product positioning
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively lead teams and manage staff
  • Excellent problem-solving capability and leadership skills
