We’re looking for a results-oriented Business Analyst with experience in a fast-paced agile environment. The Business Analyst role will be working on assigned high priority, business critical initiatives, using technology to build greater efficiencies for insurance processing. What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide application support to the business units by managing system configurations, analyzing and resolving system defects, reviewing and handling incidents reported by business users
  • Apply detailed working knowledge of the supported applications and interfaces, underlying data structures and the data stored within them
  • Work IT Service Desk tickets in a timely manner
  • Experience in business or system analysis in documenting requirements, functional specifications, and specifications of user interfaces
  • Serves as a key resource in the analysis, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of applications
  • Act as a subject matter expert of “as is” and “to be” business processes
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Waterfall and Agile project methodologies required
  • Solid technical background, with understanding of the technologies leveraged by the associated business or IT unit
  • Ability to verbally present complex concepts and technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent written communications skills sufficient to write systems documentation, project documentation, reports and business correspondences in an organized and concise fashion required
  • Facilitate end user training as needed, ensuring technical and user documentation is completed as needed
  • Post deployment, troubleshoot and resolve customer problems related to projects for a transition period agreed upon by the project sponsor and owning IT unit
  • Ability to gather, scrub, analyze, and present data to support research, analysis, and data-driven decision making
  • Basic understanding of data sources, types, architectures, models, and diagrams
  • Work with the QA team to consult and support system testing in order to ensure that the delivered functionality adheres to the requirements.
  • Meets with a variety of business leaders to identify and document business requirements and understand business impacts of implementing new technology platforms and application upgrades 
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects/system enhancements by completing and updating project documentation, managing tasks and priorities and communicating progress
  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with and mentoring others
  • Identify ways to improve system and process inefficiencies and recommend solutions
  • Manage vendor relationships and partner as needed to escalate and resolve production issues
  • Communicate system outages to applicable business units from discovery to resolution
  • Experience working with Atlassian JIRA software preferred

What You'll Bring

  • Five or more (5+) years’ experience in an Information Technology type role
  • Four or more (4+) years’ experience in a business analysis type role with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Working knowledge of Agile project management methodologies required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio)
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration or equivalent preferred
  • Certifications/designations in business analysis, CSM, CPO preferred
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance industry practices preferred
