Why We Need You

This is an insurance company that’s serious about using current technology to our advantage. We’re looking for a creative, seasoned .Net Developer with experience in an agile environment to extend our exceptional customer service into the digital space.  We have a unique structure here - our Digital Services team is directly accountable for architecting, designing, building and maintaining core insurance applications for our desktop and mobile customers. That means you can help shape the future of PEMCO’s core businesses - identify opportunities, develop solutions, and see an immediate impact on our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design, develop and support business application software, with a focus on the rapid delivery of stable and scalable solutions to business partners
  • Collaborate with architects and drive/coordinate design and technical architecture
  • Collaborate effectively with Customers, Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance Analysts in an Agile environment
  • Conduct risk/impact analysis of proposed technical solutions
  • Design, develop and support multi-tier applications of varying complexity
  • Investigate emerging technologies and identify product opportunities
  • Participate in the development of architecture and coding standards
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technical growth to team members

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Information Technology or related technical program, or  equivalent professional experience required
  • Minimum five (5+) years of software development experience with multi-tier, multi-platform applications in a business environment
  • Proficiency in full stack web development with expertise in .NET including ASP.Net/MVC, C#, JavaScript, XML, HTML/CSS, Visual Studio and SQL
  • Experience working with frontend JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS or React and State Management tools like Redux or ContextAPI
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced agile development environment required
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with a team of Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance Analysts
  • Demonstrated experience providing application development team leadership and subject matter expertise including technical guidance, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technical growth to peers required
  • Demonstrated understanding of formal architecture, design patterns and best practices
  • Experience driving and coordinating design and technical architecture, including the creation and review of detailed architectural specifications required
  • Experience in cross-discipline and cross-platform leadership on large development teams with experience in strategic planning and presenting to Senior and Executive Leadership required
  • Insurance Industry experience preferred
