Serving the people of Southwestern Alaska, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital is a 50-bed general acute care medical facility. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging.

Position Summary:  To coordinate, supervise and oversee all YKHC construction, buildings, properties, maintenance, housing and utilities.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years experience in management/supervisory position in related field. Experience in project management, architectural/engineering design development, and contracting, preferably in a health care environment. Prior experience and contacts HUD, AHFC, State, and Federal agencies preferred.
  • Valid AK Driver’s License.  Professional Architect or Engineering License Preferred.
  • Knowledge of A/E design process and construction techniques.  Knowledge of project management, cost estimating, budgeting, and scheduling. AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel proficiency required.  Excellent writing and communication skills required.  Working knowledge of funding sources for projects and related grant experience preferred. 
  • ·Supervise project planning and development, including: site control establishment, environmental review completion, scope development, design management, and budget development.
  • Assist in the supervision of YKHC capital project grant development, construction, buildings, properties, maintenance, housing and utilities.
