As the Director of Carrier Sales, you will be responsible for developing the Carrier Sales team, maintaining relationships between carriers and BMM, and providing industry expertise, guidance and support. A successful candidate will lead and influence others and also work with a high degree of autonomy.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Embodies the Core Values of the Company
  • Oversee Carrier Sales Managers and Carrier Reps
  • Hold Carrier Sales Managers, Team Leads and Reps accountable for: Load coverage expectations, Call volumes and Carrier development targets
  • Create and drive a carrier development plan strategy that successfully allows the organization to meet its monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals and initiatives
  • Both develop and actively manage / solicit a unique group of partner carriers to generate profitable carrier capacity and meet or exceed organizational profitability and metrics
  • Develop and implement strategies for targeted and underperforming lanes
  • Facilitate team meetings where appropriate
  • Execute quarterly performance reviews to team members
  • Monitor performance reviews from Carrier Manager and Team Leads to Carrier Reps


  • Excellent communication, facilitation, issue management, and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong presence and the ability to interact across different levels of the organization
  • Proven expertise in sales and business development
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of carrier sales experience in carrier sales, preferably in full truckload
  • 3 years of experience managing a successful carrier sales team
  • Proven ability to train and lead employees
