Description

Seeking a team leader with a great attitude and skills to maintain our commercial building located in Des Plaines, Illinois. While most of the work is day to day general repairs, the more skills you possess the better.

Duties

  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of building systems.
  • Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate electronic documentation for maintenance and repairs as required via work order system.
  • Reviews assigned work orders.
  • Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs.
  • Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
  • Assists in operating and monitoring building systems and equipment to include EMS, chillers, and cooling towers. Follows maintenance plan to keep building functional.
  • Inspects new installations.
  • Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing lamps and ballasts. Maintains exterior components including debris removal from roof.
  • Responds to emergency and urgent situations, enlisting additional assistance as needed.
  • May occasionally provide oversight to work performed by third party vendors.
  • Performs additional job duties as requested.

What We Look For

  • 3-5 years of experience working in building maintenance
  • Basic electronic and computer systems knowledge
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair building assets to include HVAC, electrical, generators, plumbing systems, fire & life safety, appliances, roofs, EMS, chillers, cooling towers, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Someone who will mainly work independently but has the ability to lead.
  • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity and be physically capable of strenuous activity over extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects appropriate to job requirements and be able to bend and work in a kneeling position for periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, be capable of working at heights as required, be able to enter and work within tight spaces
