Corporate Quality Engineer
The Corporate Quality Engineer will provide support for all QA and ISO Processes. They will be involved in a variety of activities, including investigations, continuous improvement projects, problem solving and action items designed to improve quality and customer satisfaction
Regional ISO Manager (see job description)
Work with Quality Managers to provide information to improve quality checks and standardize and improve processes impacting quality.
Work with the Quality Field Engineer to develop a keen understanding of field processes with an ability to factor in field conditions when evaluating product quality and tolerance issues.
Works with Manufacturing to solve in-house quality concerns.
Audit Quality and Production Processes and support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
Act as a trained observer to collect and analyze data
Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Review quality trends to prevent and/or reduce defects, determine problem causes, and initiate actions to correct them
Implement new techniques for the control of quality as directed.
Liaison with internal parties on matters relating to plant quality. (engineering, production, project management and drafting)
Understand the customer’s quality expectations and assists in determining significant characteristics and appropriate controls.
Involved in continual improvement activities within the Fabcon Way structure.
Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
QA Responsibilities as needed
Performs all aspects of the pre-pour check, the structural check, the finish check, the jig check, and the testing of the material
Strips the product off the bed and enters tagged or scrapped material into the computer
Inspects material and product for meeting quality requirements
Reports quality problems to production personnel and Quality Assurance Manager
Perform Concrete Testing
Any other duties as assigned by the Manager
College degree in engineering, manufacturing or related field
Knowledge of MS Office suite– manipulate data in Excel
Demonstrated understanding of Quality tools, SPC, CPK, Gage R & R and inspection tools and procedures
Demonstrated understanding of inspection techniques including ACI and PCI requirements
Demonstrate ability to work in a cooperative and team oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to work and make decisions independently
Ability to coach and train QA Techs and plant workers
Data Analysis Skills and figuring out root cause to Quality Concerns
PCI Certified - Level 1,2 + 3
Knowledge of CSA, Transportation DOT & ISO standards
Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception to interact with heavy machinery and hazardous obstacles, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection, sufficient balance to work on a slow-moving surface
Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
