We are the precast wall panel industry leader in the United States.
Plans and directs the overall engineering activities of the organization. Coordinates the creation, development, design, and improvement of products in conformance with established programs and objectives. Provides Engineering advice and assistance to other departments as required. Leads the drafting and engineering functions providing concepts and detail designs of Precast Concrete Wall Panel Systems to meet customer requirements and quality demands within forecast cost limits and timetables. Manages and coordinates the activities of the Engineering department for all Fabcon locations.
Directs all immediate subordinates in performance of their assigned functions so that plans and programs are carried out in accordance with organizational strategy and policy
Maintains and assures adherence to budgets and schedules for projects falling within the jurisdiction of the Engineering Department
Oversees drafting and engineering schedules, ensures projects are submitted for approval on a timely basis and that projects are distributed one week prior to the Field allowing adequate time to prepare
Assist other departments in the development of standards and the incorporation of new products and processes
Advises appropriate personnel of the latest technical developments in the engineering fields
Makes meaningful contributions to advancing methods and materials to reduce costs and ensure Company is industry leader in technology
Ensures all drafting and engineering processes are adequately checked to eliminate errors
Establishes quality review processes that ensure continuous quality improvement
Coordinates the activities of the engineering function and encourages the interchange of information, ideas and techniques in the various engineering fields
Develops and maintains an effective organization with respect to personnel, maintains trained staff sufficient to meet volume, quality and deadlines
Provides technical and personal training for employee career development and skill improvement
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Minimum ten years of progressively responsible experience in an engineering professional practice, major construction company or other related business
Ability to motivate others and dedication to the standard of excellence
Working knowledge of computer software and CAD programs
Innovative, quality-oriented professional
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong team building and organizational skills
Able to provide superior leadership and facilitate excellent working relationships among subordinates
Proven track record in management of large projects
Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
Ability to travel
Office: Move 25lbs, work with a computer for extended periods of time, use of telephone and video-conferencing technology
