The Corporate Manufacturing Technology Engineer enables maximum productivity and efficiency across all Fabcon sites by identifying best practices both internal and external. This position will lead cross functional teams to implement equipment and best practice solutions. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research new manufacturing technologies and look for applications within Fabcon manufacturing
  • Prepare budgets and ROI’s for projects
  • Prepare implementation and training plan for equipment
  • Design and develop new equipment for existing and new plants
  • Design and develop existing equipment upgrades in the plant
  • Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers to make up a corporate manufacturing technology group
  • Work with Automation contractors to automate new and existing equipment
  • Lead cross functional project teams to determine project scope, fit for use criteria, design, implementation plan, maintenance plan and safety plan.
  • Product development and improvement responsibilities as required.
  • Develop specs for new and existing manufacturing systems.
  • Develop multi-year equipment upgrade plans.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field

  • Ten years or more working in a manufacturing environment with manufacturing equipment knowledge

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead a team to determine project timelines and implementation plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate within a team and across disciplines
  • Strong background in troubleshooting manufacturing systems
  • Must be committed to safety, quality, customer satisfaction and efficiency
  • Strong ability to visualize and design mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management experience

  • Experience with ISO 9001

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles

Physical Requirements:

  • Office: Move 25lbs. (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time
  • Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection

Work Environment:

  • Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
  • Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
