Under the direction of site Continuous Improvement Engineers, this position supports production leaders and personnel by executing tasks and applying Lean, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement methodologies to deliver improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost for manufacturing processes.
Works with operators to write standard work documents
Participates in Kaizen events and other project teams for the implementation of Lean Enterprise principles throughout the business
Leads problem solving activities on discrepancies identified through Management for Daily Improvement (MDI) tiered meetings
Analyzes data to identify critical causes and to verify corrective actions improve the system
Conducts 5S audits and leads 5S improvement activities
Conducts time studies and identifies waste activity.Leads activities to reduce that waste
Strong oral and written interpersonal skills
Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher in a Bachelor of Engineering program focused on industrial or manufacturing engineering
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement principles and methods
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio
Ability to develop strong working relationships with team members, peers, and management at all levels
Demonstrated ability to coach, and lead others. Strong team facilitation and leadership skills; able to address conflicts and obstacles and guide teams to achieve desired results
Good comprehension of the entire business value stream from customer to supplier
Effective communicator, able to speak to all audiences throughout the organization, understanding the various needs of audience members, and tailoring the message to address their concerns; strong writing skills
Office: Move 25 lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with computer for extended periods of time
Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50 lbs., spatial awareness / depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection
