Drive short and long-term improvement in the Project Management and Field Operations Departments by identifying, supporting and facilitating strategic and Lean process improvements, pre-planning and training that is focused on driving efficiencies and improved results in the construction process.
Direct Manager of Field Coordinators and Team Assistants at all locations
Look for new opportunities to support and improve the quality, productivity and cost reduction of our Field and Project Management Departments areas of responsibility
Assist in refining and implementing improved processes associated with strategic planning and Lean initiatives for the Field and Project Management Departments
Support the Field and Project Management Departments with facilitating and the tracking of training to ensure effective compliance with, and the completion of, required job tasks
Conduct in-depth problem solving and analysis to find and track root causes of difficult problems
Continually improve tracking of data as it pertains to Field and Project Management initiatives
Support alignment of processes and procedures consistent with ISO 9001-2000 certification, including the responsibility for, and maintenance and modifications of, Project Management and Field Department Work Instructions and Procedures
Develop processes and drive preplanning of projects to anticipate and to prevent problems in the field, supporting efforts to meet departmental goals
Work with outside vendors to ensure appropriate resources and support are provided to the Field and Project Management departments
Facilitate oversight of internal equipment resources, including brace and column management, e-steel and field supplies
Lead Kaizen events to deliver the implementation of improved processes and procedures, including project follow-up and audits to ensure achievement and sustainability of results
Work creatively to identify and propose areas of opportunity for improvement in construction operations, including field and project management
Help create an environment oriented to trust, open communication , creative thinking and cohesive teamwork within Fabcon
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent experience
Computer skills (including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Ability to think strategically and balance contending demands to resolve the best business outcomes
Demonstrated ability to analyze and think creatively to find solutions to departmental and organizational problems
Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong knowledge and experience implementing Lean and other Continuous Improvement principals and methods
Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills
Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills
Knowledgeable and experienced with ISO 9001, including auditing techniques
Prior experience in a manager or leadership role
Experience in the precast industry
3-5 years of Lean implementation experience in a process or high-volume environment
Project Management or Field Operations experience in the construction industry
Ability to travel
This position works in an office environment with occasional travel and visits to field construction sites
