We are the precast wall panel industry leader in the United States.
The Drafter will produce precast wall panel elevations; a design set for the engineer, an approval set for the customer and a final set for field use along with production drawings and steel drawings for plant and vendor use.
With a Computer Aided Drafting System, layout precast units to correlate with plans, specifications, addendum and the bid package; Recommends efficient and cost saving panel layouts to the related parties
Communicate with external contacts (Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, Steel Vendors, Outsource Companies and their related positions), as well as internal contacts, as needed
Document any changes or concerns and forward to the job team
Create/edit drawings to be used in the plant for production and product erection
Carry out all other related tasks to reach the goals of the drafting group
Input ideas to streamline processes
Help create and improve standards
A two (2) year technical college degree related to the construction industry, specific to drafting required, or equivalent
Able to read and understand blueprints, customer sketches and specifications
Proficient in AutoCAD
Ability to correspond well with others and the flexibility to change tasks in midstream
Some discretion and independent judgment may be required
Well versed with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all internal and external contacts
Ability to work more than a 40-hour work week when required
Located within approximately one hour driving time from the plant/office
Knowledge of Precast Wall construction
Office: Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to work under strict deadlines
Ability to work in both a team setting as well as an individual setting
This position works in an office environment occasional travel to other plant locations; plant, yard and field visits will be required occasionally
Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
