Improve sales profitability and growth by effectively supporting Sales Engineer activities to sell Fabcon’s products. Perform various sales support tasks (research leads, qualify prospects, promotional work and/or special projects) to develop new business. May include work with current major accounts, development of new territories, or with customers where the full market potential of product acceptance has not been established. Perform cold calling, demonstrate products/services and provide assistance in the best application to the quotations, terms of sales, delivery dates, etc. and secure contracts subject to company policy. Track data and record insights relative to marketing trends, competing products and pricing. As required, prepare and submit reports on sales and marketing activities.
Support Sales Engineer in maintaining external customer relationships including building and business owners, developers, design build contractors, general contractors, architects, engineers, and other subcontractors
Develop a support plan for the assigned sales engineer to include measurable performance factors for areas such as number of plans reviewed, prospecting activities (direct mail, outside sources, internet, etc.) bid reviews, tracking plans, etc.
Demonstrate products/services and provide assistance in the best application to the quotations, terms of sales, delivery dates, etc.
Facilitate “up front” planning of signed projects between sales and project management
Compliance with and input regarding changes to procedures
Research, analysis and commentary on market share in the assigned market regarding competition, potential and industry type
In conjunction with the sales engineer, plan and organize a sales strategy for assigned territory
Document and analyze the customer needs and interests
Make telephone calls and presentations (under Sales Engineer supervision) to customers and potential customers
Support the Customer Complaint Log. Expedite the resolution of customer problems/complaints
Ensure strong, effective market share of the product and services by providing direction and information on the products, applications, and related services via tracking and other means
Coordinate sales efforts with the sales management, marketing, and project managers
Provide the Sales department with verbal and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, market situation, competitive activities and potential for new products/services
Keep abreast of and record insights relative to products, applications, market conditions, competitive activities, pricing, advertising and promotional trends within the market
Leads customers into efficient use of Fabcon’s products and services
Work within Fabcon to express client’s needs and develop ways to accomplish them
Exercise independent discernment sometimes with limited information
Other duties as requested by the National Sales Manager or VP Sales and Marketing
Associates Degree in Business, Marketing, or Construction related field
Working knowledge of product combined with training or a minimum of two years equivalent experience in construction, architecture or structural engineering
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, personable and well-organized
Ability to exercise independent discernment, sometimes with limited information
BA/BS in Business Administration with Sales and Marketing, Construction Engineering, or related field
Working knowledge of precast and/or concrete products
Ability to travel
Office: Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time
This position works in an office environment occasional travel to other plant locations; plant, yard and field visits will be required occasionally
Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
