Johnson Matthey are actively seeking an SAP BI Developer to be based in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on a permanent basis.
Johnson Matthey IT (JMIT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function responsible for ensuring that our IT capabilities are not only able to support and integrate technologies but can also offer insight into future IT tools that could provide us with a competitive edge and improved operating efficiencies. The SAP BI Developer will work within JMIT and will be responsible for supporting the JM SAP BI platforms and Agile Analytics solutions through in-depth technical expertise in the JM BI product sets.
JM is adopting a hybrid approach to BI, with the ongoing roll-out of the Global SAP and BI solution and an agile analytics platform and toolsets. The SAP BI Developer will primarily provide functional and technical support and development capabilities to both platforms and associated technologies and will work with the business colleagues to ensure the JM information assets are leveraged to the greatest extent possible.
The Digital Analytics team is a centralised function providing & supporting the delivery of consistent, quality BI & Analytics systems and processes across JM and the SAP BI Developer reports directly to the SAPBI Lead Developer , and will provide pro-active and reactive 2 nd and 3 rd level support and development capabilities to maintain and enhance the JM BI & Analytics systems. Some other key responsibilities include:
Engage with the Unify project to fully transition the SAP BI solution into operational Support.
Support the design and development of the operational support framework for the global Analytics assets (both SAP and non-SAP), provide in depth technical / business process advice for the solutions utilised across the business.
Provide 2nd level support to the business users via tickets received from the Service Desk – including service, incident and change requests. These are to be managed according to agreed service levels.
Provide 3rd level configuration support as required.
Provide global support for normal business operation.
Work actively with the Super User community to encourage knowledge transfer, skills improvement and process improvement.
Champion BI and Analytics usage and adoption both in the business and JMIT.
Deliver all content according to JM design standards and best practice.
Participate in future SAP rollouts as well as the piloting of new technologies as required.
Background and experience required:
Demonstrable experience in technical support function for a global business analytics platform, preferably in a multi-national implementation.
Significant experience using BI Analytics Data Warehousing & Reporting technologies Ideally:
SAP Business Objects 4.x (Web Intelligence, AfO, design studio)
SAP BW 7.5 / Hana
SAP Business Objects Data Services toolset
SAP Analytics Cloud
BO / BW Security Model & platform experience
Experience working with SAP ERP/ECC data to SAP BW workflows
Experience of In-Memory Analytics (e.g. HANA Modelling / HANA Live)
AWS Redshift / S3
Background and experience desired:
Previous experience of establishing a superuser network and end user training.
Previous experience of working with 3rd party developers & support teams.
Experience in the chemical/manufacturing industry
Experience of data quality requirements and cleansing / blending techniques
