Johnson Matthey are actively seeking a MoM Data Specialist to be based in the US - Flexible on a permanent basis.

Johnson Matthey IT (JMIT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function responsible for ensuring that our IT capabilities are not only able to support and integrate technologies but can also offer insight into future IT tools that could provide us with a competitive edge and improved operating efficiencies.

The MoM Data Specialist is responsible for overall adoption of digital analytics applications across ISA-95 Level 3 systems (MOM) via requirements definition, design, build of the JM BI, Digital and Analytics solutions, utilising business knowledge & technical expertise in the JM BI product sets (primarily MAP, Tableau, AWS & others). Johnson Matthey is adopting a multi-tier approach to digital analytics, and this role will support the Agile data warehousing tier and an advanced analytics / digital platform.

This role requires expertise in digital and analytics to provide overall requirements definition, architecture design, prototype build, business prioritisation and direction to maximize value and re-use from the JM analytics asset base. You will also help define the overall standards for analytics within the MOM domain and provide overall design, build and support for sectors and implementations to ensure consistency in approach and to ensure our information assets are leveraged to the greatest extent possible.

The MOM CoE team will provide support to those parts of the organisation where MOM solutions have been deployed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide business analysis (requirements definition) to the business to help support the definition of the overall sector based digital analytics roadmaps.
• You should have knowledge of Level 3 (MOM) systems and data used within them to build data quality rules, and build data pipelines between transactional systems and Analytical tools
• Provide governance and guidance to the business and projects WRT appropriate technology and landscape usage based on requirement.
• In conjunction with the business and the Digital Analytics team build out digital prototypes and dashboards.
• Provide definition of data standards – information, process, KPI’s
• In conjunction with the CI and Solutions Manager, Application Support Manager, and the Data Office, you will define governance procedures and processes including handover to support.
• Provide advice and guidance to projects and programmes on re-use where appropriate of existing assets
• Promote digital analytics knowledge and awareness to business / champion usage and adoption.
• Provide second line support to the JM digital reporting assets (primarily Tableau)
• Have a solid knowledge of the supported asset and the underlying core processes as well as technology
• Work with 3rd party suppliers to provide additional skills and resources as required and ensure effective knowledge transfer to internal team to develop necessary skills.
• Actively seek best practice from external sources in the digital analytics space and use this to benchmark our current capability.

Are you the ideal candidate?

• Demonstrable experience in Business Analysis and System Design on digital analytics projects, preferably in a multi-national implementation
• Significant experience within the MOM domain; MES, Quality and/or CMMS
• Hand on exposure and use of Tableau and ETL tools

Background and experience advantageous:

• Experience in the chemical/manufacturing Industry
• Knowledge of Advanced Analytical tools or Machine Learning tools
