About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities for our corporate headquarters in Fremont, CA. This role will implement and oversee all of the plant and equipment maintenance and repair activities for our three manufacturing sites and maintain multiple offices and warehouses around the world to support sales and service. Maintain all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements wherever we operate. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees EH&S function, personnel and associated safety programs and environmental services to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee compliance to ISO 14001 and 45001 requirements for safety and the environment.
  • Ensure the success of preventive maintenance to maintain/improve the reliability and performance of the company's assets.
  • Diagnose operational issues and develop plans to streamline operations, increase equipment uptime and reduce manufacturing cost and unnecessary repair costs.
  • An absolute intolerance for unsafe situations and actions.
  • Experience with Process Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Organizational Excellence, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)
  • The desire to teach and mentor.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Must possess computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate and influence personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Monitors and updates space and design standards and communicates with vendors for compliance.
  • Manages staff performing space planning function including the coordination of internal moves, re-locations, and decommissioning of vacated offices.
  • Responsible for the planning, procurement and use of equipment needed to ensure timely and efficient response to general and building services requests.

Requirements:

  • BS Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related studies (Mechanical, Materials Science, Chemical, Electrical or other). Highly qualified candidates with significant work experience will be considered that do not have a four-year degree.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with 8+ years related experience.
  • Experience in the design, implementation and management of scheduled and ad-hoc equipment servicing, refurbishment and repair.
  • Manage and lead a team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance and addressing any disciplinary issues.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a changing workload in a very fast paced environment.
  • Project management skills in the upgrade of existing equipment and in the expansion, planning, oversight and installation of new equipment.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to have a meaningful role in the building of an industry leading organization.
  • Remain informed about safety and health regulations affecting the operations.
