About the Role

This opening is for a Production Planner position in the Global Planning Group based in Fremont, California. This role will be part of the planning team accountable for supporting production operations in Fremont, CA and Beijing, China. The candidate will be responsible maintaining the work orders and kanbans for the Fremont production line and intercompany material that requires transfers between plants. Candidates performance will be subject to peer review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review material availability and release work orders ready for kitting
  • Monitor the line side stock and kanban inventory programs; coordinate the replenishment activities.
  • Support production with part shortages; approve all returns and transfers from work orders ensuring work orders are properly updated and maintained
  • Coordinate the kanban subassembly builds to support production line in Fremont and Beijing
  • Update open work orders when there are configuration changes
  • Deliver and confirm all open work orders in the system
  • Participates in the production meetings
  • Work with master planning to update and maintain kanban/safety stock inventory levels based upon supply/demand analysis
  • Verify cost and part variances to the work order before technically completing the work order
  • Work with finance to balance or fix work order COGs
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements within planning to enable overall business process improvement
  • Escalate unresolved problems after proper due diligence
  • Enforce and follow all Mattson planning policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as production or factory planner, experience in the semiconductor equipment industry is a plus
  • Must have strong analytical skills and be detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
  • Assertive, collaborative and results oriented
  • Able to manage ongoing tasks and several projects simultaneously
  • Strong ERP/MRP system knowledge, SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to influence and work cross-functionally with multiple internal partners
  • Experienced in using MS Excel and mining data
  • APICS CPIM certification preferred
