About the Role

This opening is for an Electrical Engineer in the Core Technology team based in Fremont, California.  The Core Technology team focuses on electrical/RF engineering, plasma physics, and mechanical engineering. These hands-on roles will be responsible for both supporting and improving existing semiconductor fabrication equipment products and also participating in exciting C&F (concept & feasibility) work on new RF and plasma related hardware design, assembly, tests, and concept validation, etc.,  of next generation semiconductor RF plasma processing equipment. Candidates performance will be subject to peer review.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Core Technology Engineers in working on real world problems with high voltage in RF, DC, and AC, as well as high power RF
  • Familiar with lab test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, network analyzer, plasma diagnostics tools, etc.)
  • Familiar with various conductive and dielectric materials and their properties
  • Supporting hardware tests in RF lab and on chamber in clean room to assist improvement designs and get familiar with the Mattson products of semiconductor plasma processing equipment
  • Hand crafting simple parts to speed up test progress, including basic soldering, hand tool usage, sheet metal work
  • Document test results and data analysis
  • Generate procedures to guide end users internally and customers, for new and improved hardware
  • Support field escalations and working on corresponding solutions
  • Generate hardware designs and carrying out C&F studies for resolving challenging technical issues in leading edge applications
  • Make presentations to conduct and participate in formal/informal design reviews to contribute and generate discussion/alternate ideas on various aspects of designs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in hands-on hardware work
  • Education in electrical engineering, plasma physics, or mechanical engineering
  • College degree required BS degree, Master degree, and/or Ph.D. 
  • Industrial experiences preferred, but not necessary

  • Pass all required safety trainings
