DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Provides Communication Engineer support to the Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS), which is within the Battle Management Directorate at Hanscom AFB, MA.
Analyzes technical communication designs for potential Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, EMI/EMC issues.
Responsible for the program’s frequency spectrum management process.
Coordinates with IPTs for COMSEC and TEMPEST compliance and approval process.
Coordinates with Integration and Test Team for all issues related to on/off-board communications.
Coordinates with Army and Marine program offices to ensure interoperability through communications and datalinks.
Provides support to Hanscom Development Lab for Communications testing and Communication system integration.
Assess Communication Subsystem design against JSTARS Recap DODAF products (SV, OV)
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years work experience
Experience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programs is desirable.
Work experience with UHF/VHF/Link-16/BLOS Communications preferred
Familiarity with airborne communications is required
IT Certifications are a plus.
US Citizenship is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and retain the designated Government clearance (SECRET). Must have an active SECRET clearance.
