Description of Duties
MCR is actively seeking a highly personable and technically astute Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) Engineer. This position will support our customer in the U.S. Army Program Executive Office (PEO), Fixed Wing FW Project Office (PO), and Special Electronics Mission Aircraft (SEMA) Product Manager (PM). As the ASE SME, you will
Be the action/coordination officer for the integration of all ASE installed on Army SEMA aircraft.
Lead Working Groups communicating and synchronizing with system partners.
Review technical data packages to ensure they are technically correct and identify risks related to the performance and schedule for various ASE integration plans.
Support both functional and operational system testing and evaluation on the aircraft and support software development efforts for the AAR-57, AAR-47 and other Infra-Red and Radio Frequency systems.
Establish the contractual requirements for ASE system installations and represent the SEMA PM during all ASE design reviews.
The most substantial tasks are related to responding to issues which originate with the system users necessitating the need to contact other ASE SMEs (including PM ASE) to develop problem statements, perform root cause analysis should a system fail and recommend courses of action to resolve failures or system issues to include launching tiger teams to deployed sites if required. On a frequent basis, communicate both orally and in writing with other team members and outside agencies as to project progress. Be able to develop and present briefings at the O-6 level. This position does require travel up to 25% with some periods of extended travel.
This position is located in an office which provides project management for aviation/missile weapons systems/ subsystems and associated equipment and is located on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL. Knowledge of Aircraft Survivability Equipment
BS in Engineering
No less than 10 years experience with a minimum of years related work
The following are highly desired: FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) authority, Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License.
