As an Airworthiness SME, you shall provide support to the Survivable Air Operations Center (SAOC) effort, which is within Battle Management Directorate, located at Hanscom AFB, MA. You will have to interface with a team of military, Government civilian, contractor project managers and FFRDC/A&AS support personnel in the day-to-day activities associated with management of HB’s projects, programs and initiatives.
We are looking for a self-starter with the following skillset:
Advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered a subject matter expert in airworthiness.
Ability to provide engineering expertise and guidance in the planning and accomplishment of airworthiness assessments including the development and completion of associated airworthiness products which ultimately support issuance or recommendation of a flight authorization from the Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA).
Deep understanding of all aspects of Airworthiness as outlined in AFPD 62-6 and AFI 62- 601, to include planning, certification basis, compliance review, risk acceptance and AW approvals for all USAF manned/unmanned aircraft which are owned, leased, operated, used, designed, or modified by the USAF.
Ability to work closely with the program office, FAA and Air Force certification offices to establish agreed upon methods of compliance, conduct technical assessments and produce required documentation necessary to support the decision of the TAA, AFLCMC/EN-EZ, to award a Military Type Certification (MTC) based on design and test results.
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience in DoD systems acquisition and program management principles, policies, and practices as defined in DoDI 5000.02 as well as knowledge of roles and relationships with the DoD and Air Force
Ability to respect and work with customer country customs, etiquette and business practices
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skilled in use of Microsoft Office products
Must have an active US Security Clearance: Top Secret
