Description of duties

We are in need of a forward-thinking, Program Acquisition Analyst who will effectively assist the Government in delivery and sustainment of war-fighting capabilities in support of the Air Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC). Your duties will consist of the following:

  • Assess, develop, evaluate, consolidate, track status of and report metrics for responses for answering technical and programmatic inquiries working closely with the appropriate Division representative.

Our MCR team is responsible for leading research and analysis projects with the government and other external or foreign agencies. You will be researching, drafting and editing articles, speeches, and testimony on the Directorate, organization, missions, operations, and initiatives. You will review, oversee, and process program information suitable for public release to industry, media, trade publications, international partners, and other customers. You will analyze and advise the government on various phases of the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution process as it applies to the administration and management of all programs within the Directorate. You will support the development of the Program Objective Memorandum, Staffer Day preparations, Spring Program Reviews, Investment Budget Review, Program Management Reviews, Mid-year Execution Reviews, Baseline Execution Reviews, Vice-Commander’s Forum, Financial Management Reviews, Acquisition Mission Support, Business Management Reviews, and other budget execution activities. Job duties may extend to other related areas.

Basic qualifications

We are searching for someone who meets the following criteria:

  • Possesses Master's degree or higher in related field
  • 15+ years of experience performing cost, schedule, performance activities for aircraft and/or spacecraft applications in the commercial, industrial, and/or military arena, of which the last three years shall include duties/assignments specifically supporting space programs
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with clear and concise technical accuracy
  • Shows skill with MS Windows and MS Office applications and software
  • US Citizenship with an active TS/SCI eligible clearance level

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge in supporting Federal Government acquisitions and/or contract
  • Achieved APDP Level III in one or more discipline: Program Management, Contracting, Financial Management, and Engineering or PMP certification
