Overview of the Position

You will be supporting the Space and Missile Systems Center Portfolio Architect Capability Integration Division (SMC/ZAC).  SMC/ZA is responsible for defining the current and future space architectures, supporting the development and production of ACAT programs, responding to warfighter requirements, evaluating emerging technologies, communicating with international, commercial, and inter-agency partners.

Description of duties

This position interacts with the O-6 Division Chief and Directorate leadership on a daily basis.  The individual will provide administrative support to Space Force customers in El Segundo, CA.  You will be in the premier space acquisition organization responsible for delivering space-based capabilities and effects to our warfighters and allied partners.  Key duties associated with this position include: 

  • Apply critical thinking and experience to develop solutions for our customer’s most challenging issues
  • Build weekly reports and briefings
  • Maintain personnel files, to include civilian appraisals, military performance reports, decorations, and tracking the status of personnel and supervisory actions
  • Support customers with official travel using the Defense Travel System tool
  • Provide calendar support to senior leaders and support organizational priorities
  • Understand Department of Defense, Air Force, and Space Force organizations, processes, procedures, instructions, and guidance
  • Support customer meetings, which includes providing read-ahead materials, drafting meeting minutes, and tracking assigned action items

Required qualifications

  • 10 or more years of experience performing Executive Administrative support that directly support the US Air Force and/or DoD Programs supporting an O-6 level or above
  • Expertise using MS Office applications and software
  • An associate degree in a related field
  • US Citizenship and possess an active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience performing Executive Administrative support that directly support the US Air Force and/or DoD Programs supporting an O-6 level or above
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in a related field
