Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Human Resources will lead the strategy and growth of the organizations Human Resources, working closely with leadership,helping align and shape organizational and people capabilities with the business strategy and operational objectives. The Head of Human Resources will be responsible for strategic human resources while supporting and assisting with the execution of daily operational tactics. This position will take us from 250 employees to approximately 1000 employees with multiple FDA approved products.

What are your job responsibilities?
Leads strategy and growth of the Company’s Human Resources department including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, organizational development, career development, performance management, and employee relations
Develop and implement effective hiring and employee retention programs
Influences and advises executive leadership team on Human Resources strategies, issues and topics of interest. Provides counsel and collaborates with the executive leadership team on Human Resources related activities
Provides counsel to executive leadership on how the people strategy contributes to the business strategy, both the short-term and long-term vision, facilitating any scaling of growth that may occur
Provide objective and strategic input and guidance to employees at all levels of the organization including career development, and general management / employee relationship issues
Oversee benefit programs and ensure Human Resource Managers, and Business Partners provide local employee benefit support and leave of absence processing including FMLA, STD, and Workers Compensation
Help lead an organization through a period of high growth while creating HR programs and policies that support this stage of development of the organizations
Oversees the development and implementation of Human Resources Company policies and procedures, initiatives related to talent management, compensation, benefits, organizational development, performance management, and employee relations
Oversees the Company’s compensation and benefit programs, developing and implementing equitable, competitive compensation programs that supports the Company’s philosophy while assessing the competitiveness relevant to comparable companies, the biotech/pharma industry, and markets and attracts, retains and rewards top talent
Create career ladders and development plans that support a growing organization
Enhance, implement and enforce Human Resource policies and procedures
Establish trust and credibility throughout the organization
Create aligned goals for self and department achieving results that drive the business, the vision and operational needs of the organization
Build, develop and inspire a team that is trusted and valued and supports the organization
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements with regards to employment law, etc.
What education and experience do you need?
BA/BS required, MS level preferred; Human Resource certification a plus
15 + years of experience in progressive cross-functional Human Resources leadership roles which include management/leadership of professional staff
Biotech/pharma experience
Global experience is a plus
Experience with successfully guiding a company thru rapid growth and change
Previous experience developing and implementing programs for a growing company
Solid understanding and working knowledge of HR practices, employment law, talent acquisition, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, immigration, etc.
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple functions in a matrix environment coaching, consulting, partnering, and influencing leaders and peers across the organization
Excellent facilitation, coaching and counseling skills
Strong collaboration, business acumen, interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skills
Experience in implementing HRIS systems, preferably Oracle based
