The Opportunity: Director of Broadcast Engineering
The Director of Broadcast Engineering is a service-oriented management position that will oversee the broadcast maintenance team, report to The Senior Director of Technology and collaborate closely with colleagues and other stakeholders to support user needs and build systems that will improve broadcast processes, ensure FCC Compliance, and optimize critical broadcast strategies. 
 
Position Summary
In this role you’ll manage and supervise a 2-person broadcast maintenance engineering team; install, maintain, and repair all broadcast equipment (both studio and transmitter hardware); maintain traditional radio and digital broadcasting systems and equipment, including but not limited to transmitters, studio consoles, satellite receivers and broadcast automation equipment. It will require excellent written and oral communications, personable interaction with fellow employees, and strong organizational skills.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • In-depth experience (10+ years) with radio broadcast operations, including maintenance of broadcast automation and studio equipment, Transmitter RF equipment, and computer/IT skills; ability to troubleshoot GatesAir/Harris and Nautel transmitters is preferred 
  • An ability to work independently and as an effective team leader 
  • An understanding of FCC regulations to ensure technical compliance
  • Responsiveness to equipment outages, malfunctions, and related technical problems
  • Experience documenting equipment maintenance, repair, and replacements
  • Associate degree or greater in a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • SBE certification is a plus
Additional Position Requirements 
  • A valid state driver's license and access to your own vehicle to travel to multi-location worksites
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in small places, and lift 50 pounds is required
  • Occasional night and weekend on-call work expected; must be available to respond 24/7
