Job Description: Senior Analyst , Structured Finance

Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Senior Analyst, Structured Finance, to join its world class team.  This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting technologies.

The right candidate is a financial professional with experience in project finance, private equity, investment banking, and / or power industry finance.  In this role, the candidate will be a part of a small but growing deal team. You will assist in all phases of the customer facing deal process as well as fundraising efforts to provide capital to support customer deal flow. This will involve assessing deal feasibility, preparing customer proposals, creating the financial structure of projects, capital raising activities, term sheet negotiations, all the way through to the closing process.  The small size of the current team means that the right candidate will be able to “wear many hats” and make a significant contribution to the overall success of Bloom Energy. 

Location: This position will be based out of San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain complex financial models, along with accompanying sensitivity analyses and other standard deal collateral (customer and financier facing)
  • Prepare offering materials, including power point presentations and offering memoranda
  • Assist in the deal closing process
  • Manage internal cross-functional communications with sales, marketing, business development, corporate finance, engineering, manufacturing and operations
  • Handle ad hoc projects as required (e.g. research and analyze new markets)

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience building and maintaining complex financial models and executing on financing. 
  • Experience at top tier investment bank, private equity firm, or corporate development at leading power company experience preferred
  • A background of exceptional academic performance at a top-tier college or university
  • Strong communication skills required.  Must be able to clearly articulate and communicate complex financial information and issues to management and project financiers.
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences, ranging from customers and financiers, to Bloom engineers and operations staff
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, preparing high quality reports and presentations, and maintaining high levels of quality with a heavy work load
  • Must demonstrate strong personal ethics, the ability to influence and negotiate, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning
  • High attention to detail
