Job Description: Senior Manager, Human Resources


Bloom Energy, the leader in disruptive energy solutions based on its world changing fuel cell technology is looking for an exceptional Senior Manager, Human Resources who will focus on the development of the people and teams that drive and sustain the highest level of performance and effectiveness. She/He will play an instrumental role in the organization with contributions in the following functions: staffing, coaching, mentoring, guidance, learning and development, program delivery, compensation planning, conflict management, and employee communications. 

In this position, she/he will be responsible for the facilitation of organizational and leadership development efforts, change management through diverse business challenges in a dynamic environment, working with employees and managers to seek and address root causes of employee relations issues, and drive/maintain a high performing environment and culture.

The ideal person resolves employee relations and organizational development issues through a highly interactive and systematic approach, teams with senior management in the development of strategic solutions, and implements work efforts in a manner that is within the cultural norms of the company. As a part of the greater Human Resources team, the person in this role will contribute in the development of company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., performance management, learning and development, workforce planning, and organizational change). The candidate for this role must demonstrate the ability to perform at a leadership level and be an integrated member of the management staff. The successful candidate will be able to seamlessly balance between employee advocacy and company leadership. In addition, the candidate must drive initiatives that are in line with the overall HR strategy, the company's strategic business priorities, as well as, BE’s culture and core values.


Location: This position will be based in Newark, DE.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the VP, Manufacturing of Bloom Energy's Delaware Manufacturing Center in the strategic management of the organization
  • Represent the company in all people related matters, both internally and externally
  • Participate in strategic planning to help the business meet present/future goals and achieve the most productive outcomes for the business
  • Manage workforce planning with 3rd party vendors to meet manufacturing business plans and partner with Corporate staffing to ensure critical jobs are filled
  • Foster excellent employee relations, through counseling and coaching to employees and managers, where both employee needs and company needs are met
  • Manage performance at the group and individual levels – drive a high performing and collaborative culture and ensure performance management policies and practices are being followed
  • Work with group leadership to understand the external environment and competitive landscape
  • Develop Executive plans and work with local managers on training and development needs within the organization
  • Create and monitor metrics to measure the impact of projects and programs related to organizational effectiveness


Skills and Experience: on projects and programs

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ plus years of direct relevant experience. Advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Experience in industrial relations with a mix of both union and non-union environments
  • Experience working in manufacturing plants, frequently walking the plant to gain a better understanding of work processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate the ability to coach, lead and develop organizations
  • Demonstrated success in a dynamic, frequently changing, and geographically dispersed environment
  • Strong external presence, creating key relationships with stakeholders in the Delaware area
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and "Customer Focus" with ability to positively interact with Executives, business managers and vendors
  • Experience in complex employee relations, federal & state laws, & dispute resolution
  • Good knowledge of compensation planning, modeling and analysis
  • Proven business acumen, excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Experience in Delaware is desirable
