Job Description: Sr. Staff Equipment Engineer - Controls

We have recently launched a “game changing” solution called “Always on” that will help companies power their primary business operations without disruption with cleaner, more reliable electricity generated on-site with no combustion.  We are looking for a Sr. Staff Equipment Engineer - Controls join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies.

Location: This position is based in Sunnyvale, CA.

 

         Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support equipment for fuel cell manufacturing and manage day to day equipment issues in a production environment.

  • Ability to make decisions on key technical issues in a demanding environment.

  • Working with design and process engineering to specify, design, source and build integrated automation and process control software.

  • Create procedures, train Maintenance personnel in the repair, and set up of new machinery or new process.

     

    Skills and Experience:

  • BS, or MS degree in mechanical, electrical/computer Engineering, computer science or equivalent.

  • Extensive (5-10 years) experience in Equipment Engineering supporting high volume manufacturing.

  • Experienced in PLC, HMI, motion control and material handling, including robotics. Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, Ignitions, Adept or Epson experience is a plus.

  • TCP/IP and industrial network infrastructure setup and maintenance

  • Experienced in C++/C# and database programming.

  • Competent in mechanical, pneumatics and electrical systems.

  • Good hands-on systems integration experience, troubleshooting, and start-up and commissioning of equipment into production environment.

  • Superior communication skills, (written, verbal and active listening.)

  • Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversight

    Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships.
