Environmental Service Techs. / Hospital housekeepers maintain a clean environment throughout the hospital that they are working for. They make beds, handle waste management duties and replenish linen along with a bevy of other housekeeping duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials, Customer service skills, Written and verbal communication skills, Ability to operate carpet extractor, floor buffers, and various cleaning equipment, Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks or projects. Maintains a positive attitude and work environment among associates
Education and Experience: high school diploma or equivalent preferred; knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods; knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials; working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
Language Skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the university community. Good communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to management and customer.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability: Use and enforce PPE and Safety in the workplace at all times to prevent and keep injuries to a minimum.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may work in the comfort of modern, air-conditioned rooms & offices and the next be required to clean in a noisy environment full of fumes and bad odors.
