Job Description: Floor Trainer
Candidate will be responsible for maintaining strength and weight/cardiovascular rooms to provide a safe and clean environment for members. Responsible for communicating and enforcing the department equipment use and safety policy, and answering any questions. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, bend over, squat, reach, lift and carry substantial weight (to up 50 lbs). Candidate must be pursuing a degree in a fitness related field. A Personal Training Certification is preferred, but not required (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA). This is an entry level fitness position. 

Essential Functions:

  • Greet all members
  • Conduct Fitness Orientations
  • Basic knowledge on cardiovascular, selectorized and free weight equipment
  • Conduct "groundwork" stretch and mobility class in the Performance Center
  • Wipe glass doors and mirrors
  • Conduct New Member Orientations and New Member Personal Training Session
  • Determine and respond to member needs and inquiries
  • Instruct users on proper use of equipment and offer assistance with spotting
  • Offer tips on stretching
  • Make sure all sanitizers are full
  • Restack weights and educate member on this proper protocol
  • Keep the Performance Center neat--teach members proper etiquette
  • Maintain assigned area by ensuring that it is free of discarded materials
  • Inspect all fitness rooms and equipment to ensure they are clean and safe for use
  • Report and restrict use of broken equipment
  • Communicate/enforce club policy. Report all problem users
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all policies and procedures concerning fitness facilities and programs
  • Exhibit leadership and sensitivity
  • Update fitness forms
  • Hand out locked equipment/towels when necessary

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A Personal Training Certification is preferred, but not required (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA)
  • Must be pursuing a degree in a fitness related field
