Position Summary:

The Business Continuity Analyst is responsible for supporting the Business Continuity Program (BCP) which includes Business Resumption, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, BCP testing, Training and Awareness, and all day-to-day functions required to ensure Cenlar can prepare, react, and recover from any major incident or disaster scenario. This position is also responsible for the management of significant projects, including the annual plan update process, and for acting as the primary liaison between technology infrastructure and a specific business/functional area.  Incumbents in this role identify business unit requirements, support project and process specifications, coordinate with project teams, and ensure that projects are recoverable and follow established BCP guidelines.  The Analyst may also write or assist in the writing of technical documentation/materials required to support and recover processes, applications, and systems.   Additionally, this role supports and/or facilitates and documents testing efforts throughout the calendar year to support the BCP Testing program.



  • Acts as the translator between business and technology in order to ensure that project requirements and objectives are in alignment with BCP standards
  • Assists the business with understanding and implementing the proposed solutions
  • Contributes to projects as needed to conduct tasks such as facilitating project meetings, taking meeting minutes, status collection, test plans and scripts, tracking, and reporting
  • Interfaces and communicates with multiple teams, departments, individuals, and Third Party entities to effectively execute according Cenlar standards
  • Manages Incident and Disaster Event response including assisting with communications, recovery plan implementation, post event activities
  • Assists with recovery efforts with corporate technology departments
  • Assists with implementing Business Continuity Training for Cenlar managers and employees
  • Manages the Cenlar Safety Website
  • Assists with Cenlar’s Area Safety Leader (ASL) Program
  • Ensures the development of the core set of Disaster Recovery plans (as a part of the overall DRP) to cover systems recovery
  • Monitors the technology environment for incidents and/or significant changes and ensures changes are evaluated and technical recovery plans and procedures are updated and maintained at acceptable levels in reference to such incidents or changes
  • Coordinates the inventory and documentation of the criticality ratings for applications and infrastructure components and ensures alignment with BCP supplied RTOs and RPOs
  • Assists with implementing Disaster Recovery training requirements for technology managers and employees
  • Continually monitors, updates, and improves Cenlar’s Disaster Recovery Plan and ensures that comprehensive plan updates occur, at minimal, on an annual basis
  • Identifies and documents dependencies for key technology vendors and ensures a valid recovery strategy is in place, maintained, and is viable
  • Assists with required recovery response for any significant technology outages or disaster events including initiating and assisting with recovery plan implementation, coordinating with technology partners, representing IT Security, Business Continuity Assurance and Disaster Recovery during events, and assisting with post-event closure and follow-up activities
  • Represents CSO and Business Continuity during initial project phases throughout the company
  • Develops and coordinates annual testing along with iterative testing as needed
  • Maintains and supports relationship with BCP vendors and coordinates planning and recovery efforts with corporate technology departments
  • Represents CSO and BCP when interacting with current and potential clients
  • Monitors external media sources for significant events affecting Cenlar and its employees, including significant natural events such as weather and acts of nature
  • Develops and manages Business Continuity Training for Cenlar managers and employees
  • Manages emergency communications via External Emergency Notification System, Employee Hotline updates, and Emergency conference calls
  • Manages the Cenlar Safety Website
  • Manages Area Safety Leader Program
  • Manages and implements Safety training as needed
  • Manages Cenlar Safety vendors as needed
  • Develops, manages and coaches assigned staff and/or contract resources.
  • Delegates tasks and monitors progress to support the accomplishment of program objectives and provides feedback and performance evaluation on a periodic basis




  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 to 5 years of Business Analysis equivalency experience
  • Ability to manage communication with multi-faceted team members, analytical, leadership, and organizational skills
  • CBCP, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred, but not required
  • Exhibits strong basic executional capabilities and who are beginning to take on more responsibility
  • Mortgage or Financial Services experience a plus
  • Strong communication to articulate details and perspectives

  • Ability to elicit, analyze, articulate and document requirements with clarity - from a foundation of unexpressed or ambiguous objectives
  • Ability to perform under direction of the Manager, Lead Analyst demonstrating a consistent progression towards greater independence for the role
