  • Assist department supervisor by supporting the loss mitigation team in facilitating business procedures and best practices to deliver the highest quality client services.

  • Work closely with department supervisor and manager in implementing loss mitigation strategies and new programs, inclusive of but not limited to, HAMP, GSE loan modifications, repayment plans, short sales, special forbearance plans, deeds-in-lieu, and partial claims.

  • Oversee staff members and have accountability for their production.

  • Provide management with departmental productivity, quality control, performance, and standards reports.

  • Create and update managerial detail reports/spreadsheets pertinent to the workout function and progress of loans on a monthly basis.

  • Monitor reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis in order to effectively manage the pipeline, keeping within investor/insurer guidelines.

  • Maintain extensive and up-to-date knowledge with respect to GSE requirements and guidelines, as well as other investor’s rules and PMI requirements.

  • Assist in working with borrowers, both written and orally, through workout negotiations in an attempt to mitigate foreclosure/REO avoidance/losses.

  • Facilitate the resolution of escalated customer/client issues.

  • Review vendor invoices for payment.

  • Other duties as required and assigned.



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a default/loss mitigation environment

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements preferred

  • Knowledge of LPS/MSP system preferred

  • Familiarity with HAMP requirements preferred

  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong negotiating and follow-up skills

  • Ability to act and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to interact and work effectively with others; co-workers, management, attorneys, realtors, and outside vendors

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in high pressure situations, as well as handle interruptions and manage multiple tasks

  • Ability to understand and follow specific and detailed instructions

  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
