The Credit Reporting Specialist is responsible for ensuring all credit disputes received are responded to within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA) and tracked though an internal system.   The Specialist is responsible for ensuring all disputes received are accurately responded to by reviewing CRRG, FCRA, RESPA, Investor, and any additional guidelines that may apply. 

Responsibilities:

  • Completes all e-Oscars assigned (average 40 per day• Completes all tasks assigned within the required SLA assigned
  • Assists in reviewing all Quarterly, Monthly and Weekly reports received from the 4 credit reporting agencies, e-Oscar and internal compliance officer; These reviews will ensure all special credit bureau coding is accurate and any errors shown are corrected
  • Ensures all dispute items received through the e-Oscar system and the task process are entered in the Credit Dispute SharePoint
  • Attends webinars, online training, and other compliance related meetings pertaining to credit reporting and correction and use the information obtained to update procedures as directed by management
  •  Researches and responds to all escalated issues sent to them directly
  • Assists in any additional functions designated by management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or mortgage banking/credit reporting  experience required
  • 0 to 1 years of mortgage servicing experience preferred
  • Existing FCRA certification, or ability to achieve certification within 12 months of hire
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated intermediate research and analysis skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
