Chemonics International seeks a Compensation Manager to join the Human Resources Division. The Compensation Manger will play a lead role in executing the strategy, design, and administration of global compensation programs and manage all compensation programs both domestically and internationally. In addition, this position will drive important initiatives to help the organization grow and mature as a global company. This position will act as an internal consultant and strategic business advisor to the HR leadership team and other internal stakeholders. The Manager is responsive to Chemonics’ goals and competitive practices and ensures that compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with Chemonics’ policies and government regulations. The Compensation Manager will lead, mentor and develop a team of compensation analysts.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Lead various compensation-related projects which involve development and/or re-design of existing compensation programs
  • Consult with external compensation consultants to support timely execution of key initiatives and compensation related projects
  • Provide advice to HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and the Recruiting Department, managers, and business leaders on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation.
  • Recommend plan revisions as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and Chemonics’ objectives 
  • Develop process improvements to streamline compensation related processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the effectiveness of existing domestic and global compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure completion of regulatory compliance reports such as the EEO-1 report for Chemonics
  • Oversee Chemonics’ salary survey participation, bonus administration (annual bonus and spot awards).
  • Ensure business partners and stakeholders are informed of best practices and guidance as it relates to compensation and position analysis and ensures internal website is updated with current information
  • Develop reoccurring and ad-hoc compensation reports / analytics.
  • Conduct semi-annual compensation review of each business unit with support from Compensation Analysts
  • Keep apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations and stays informed of new industry trends and best practices in compensation
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or other relevant concentration required. 
  • A minimum of four years of experience in the analysis, design, and/or administration of compensation programs. 
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor and develop a compensation team
  • Compensation experience in the international development industry and familiarity with USAID, State Department, and other international donor guidelines preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of compensation and job evaluation theories, applicable wage/hour regulations, and salary survey methodologies.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Possess strong plan design, administration, and implementation experience. 
  • Strong technical/analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
  • Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation, and priority-setting. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the company. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting time-sensitive deadlines, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
