FAMILY ADVOCACY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (FAPA)
The FAPA is a member of the multidisciplinary Family Advocacy Program (FAP) team and is responsible for providing administrative, technical, and prevention services as directed by the Family Advocacy Officer (FAO).
Education: An Associate’s Degree in Education or Teacher Certification Program. Acceptable related degrees are Social Behavior, Human Behavior or Health Care.
Experience: Developing an education curriculum with learning objectives and outcomes are essential. It is critical the FAPA have a high proficiency in Microsoft Office and various database / software programs.
Administratively, the FAPA is responsible for the maintenance of automated data collection systems, including the Family Advocacy System of Records (FASOR). The FAPA shall ensure that maltreatment data is entered into FASOR within 15 calendar days after the Clinical Case Staffing (CCS). FAPAs shall not enter clinical data into FASOR. Treatment providers are responsible for entering clinical data. FAPAs may enter information during the CCS in the clinical impressions text box regarding clinical discussions and recommendations, much like taking minutes for the meeting. The CCS note for the FAP record is printed out, reviewed and signed by a provider.
The FAPA shall provide administrative and computer support to The Maltreatment Intervention, New Parent Support Program (NPSP), and Outreach components via FASOR, Family Advocacy Program Network (FAPNet) and other software programs, as well as managing computer resources.
The FAPA, in conjunction with the FAO, shall manage data to provide information regarding patient satisfaction, recidivism, and clinical outcome measures.
The FAPA shall compile statistical data, prepare minutes, agendas, and notification letters In Accordance With (IAW) FAP Standards, and other written communication as requested by the FAO.
The FAPA shall assist in the research/evaluation program by administering data collection assessment instruments to individuals referred to the FAP. The FAPA shall process and score instruments initially and on a follow-up basis as specified by the FAO or AF FAP.
The FAPA shall assist the Family Advocacy Outreach Manager/Intervention Specialist (FAOM/FAIS) in administering, scoring and maintaining secondary prevention program measurement instruments in support of the Outreach Program.

In the absence of a FAOM or FAIS, the FAPA may provide orientation and annual training to Squadron Commanders and First Sergeants as directed by the FAO.
The FAPA shall not provide Special Needs Identification and Assignment Coordination Services (formerly Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP services), to include administrative support or relocation clearances.
When a FAPA has direct contact with Family Advocacy maltreatment clients or clients with open NPSP records, a note will be made in the record and reviewed by a provider to determine if co-signature is required. FAPAs shall not conduct intake interviews with FAP clients.
When a FAPA has contact with NPSP clients, a contact note shall be created in the ‘contact notes’ section in the NPSP module in FAPNet.
Contract employees shall maintain a professional, neat, well-groomed appearance at all times to facilitate credibility with patients, staff, and command. Tank-tops, cut-offs, shower shoes or similar items of apparel are prohibited. Clothing shall be clearly distinguishable from all U.S. military uniforms. Contractor personnel shall wear a contractor provided identification badge at all times while performing contract services. The badge shall include the person’s full name, title, and company name. Contract personnel must include the word “contractor” in their signature block for all electronic and hard copy correspondence.
All personnel shall read, understand, speak, and write English fluently. Additionally, it is critical all employees are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office© Suite and have the ability to input, retrieve, and format documentation via various database/software.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Weekly hours shall not exceed a forty (40) hour work week and a typical work day will be 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
