About Hillel at Florida State University:

Florida State University is home to nearly 4,000 Jewish students. Hillel at FSU provides diverse opportunities for making Jewish choices while being a student in Tallahassee. FSU Hillel is housed in a recently constructed building, across the street from campus in a burgeoning student residential and entertainment district. FSU is proud to offer a study in Israel option through their world-class Study Abroad Program office. One out of every five FSU students participates in Greek life.

We are students, staff, and lay leaders dedicated to providing a welcoming, pluralistic, and inclusive atmosphere on campus. Pluralism is always at the core of what we do, and we recognize that there is not just one way to “be Jewish.” Students come from diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Our goal is to provide opportunities for students to explore their Judaism in a way that is meaningful to them.

We are encouraging students to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. We help students find a balance in being “distinctively Jewish” and “universally human” by encouraging them to pursue tzedek (social justice), tikkun olam (repairing the world), Jewish learning, and to support Israel and global Jewish peoplehood.

Jews participate in student government through several registered student organizations (RSOs): `Noles for Israel, NolePAC, J Street U Florida State, Jewish Law Students Association, fraternities & sororities, and other emerging groups. Hillel supports all expressions of Jewish life on campus and offers an environment in which Jewish students can create the type of Jewish life they wish to have at FSU. Join us and be a member of both tribes!
