Ontario Systems is looking for two, full-time, System Engineers dedicated to its Federal government clients and prospects.

Do you enjoy using a variety of methods to maintain operational efficiency of Cloud environments i.e. automation, streamlined processes, implementation of new technologies and/or tools?  Do you have experience with Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS ? Location This position will work from our Muncie, Indiana, location, which is near Ball State University and within easy commuting distance from Indianapolis. We will consider remote work arrangements once you are ingrained in the role.

Federal background clearance is required and is a condition of employment.

What You'll Do

You will focus on ensuring cloud/hosted systems in the Federal space are configured and maintained in accordance with operational and security standards and policies, maintain operation efficiency of the Federal cloud environments through automation, streamlined processes, implementation of new technologies and/or tools; complete periodic reviews of the cloud operations and infrastructure design, design and deploy the latest innovative technologies, create and maintain documentation, and perform other projects as assigned. Occasional travel is required.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Computer Science, AWS or related work experience preferred
  • 1-4 year's related experience or more
  • Customer service orientation required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills negotiation skills; reasoning ability
  • Experience and knowledge of AWS technology a requirement
  • AWS certifications are a plus
  • Application, configuration, or implementation understanding of Cloud software solutions is a plus
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level databases
  • Linux/Unix and Cache experience preferred
  • Development aptitude required; development experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of various version control systems like Mercurial
  • Experience using ticketing systems for issue tracking a plus
  • Good grasp of computer security which  might encompass deploying software patches, but also preventing breaches and other security issues with preventative measures
