Housekeeping Intern



Our internship program’s objectives are to ensure participants have an overall understanding of the hospitality industry with a focus in Housekeeping Management. The intern will learn the company’s quality service standards, become familiar with the day-to-day operations, and understand the basic functions of various departments that play a key role in the divisions’ success. Interns will maintain an understanding of the overall hotel operation by training in the core areas of the rooms operation, including the following housekeeping areas: room coordination, public areas and housekeeping supervision.  The expectations of selected candidates is a passion for learning and the desire to experience first-hand the areas of focus.     

Our internship program is designed for hospitality business students who have a primary interest in the Housekeeping Department within the Viceroy Hotel.  Interns will be required to a 40 hour work week in the  housekeeping department, typically for a period of 10 – 12 weeks. 


  • Must be enrolled in an approved, accredited college internship program focused on hospitality or related field. 
  • Internship program requirements from the college will need to be presented prior to the internship approval.
  • Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and uniform expectations.
  • Previous experience with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, hear and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to sustain composure at all times and remain calm during difficult situations.
  • Must have excellent guest and colleague relations skills.
  • Skilled in problem solving with the ability to identify the problem and work through it.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.  Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. 
  • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 8+ hours.
  • Possess strong organizational and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent office skills including office procedures, filing systems and equipment.
  • Must be able to work, varied shifts and flexible schedules. Maintain schedule availability to provide the best assistance to the job related responsibilities to include but not limited to guest expectations.
