POSITION SUMMARY

Our Houseperson plays a critical role in the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel’s guestrooms and public areas.  Reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper, this position will assist with general cleaning, as well as ensure all housekeeping storage areas are organized and well stocked.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery of items and supplies to and from guestrooms.
  • Cleaning of public areas including, but not limited to public restrooms, corridors and lobby areas.  This may include vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, waxing, scrubbing, wiping and dusting. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory of housekeeping storage items.    
  • Initiate maintenance requests for necessary repairs and/or upkeep. 
  • Removal of soiled linens and trash.
  • Welcome, greet, and acknowledge all guests. 
  • Display a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor in all interactions with all guests, patrons and fellow colleagues.
  • Actively listen and immediately respond to all guest inquiries and issues.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail with minimum supervision. 
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excels in a team environment. 
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50-100 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility, including bending, kneeling, squatting and reaching for up to 4 hours in length.   
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years previous experience in a similar position within a luxury hotel environment preferred.
