As Accounting Manager, you will help lead the Finance team with varying accounting processes, which include payroll, income audit, balance sheet reconciliation, and assist with closing the month.
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director of Finance, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Assist in maintaining system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements
Prepare and execute Payroll transmittal
Assist with income auditing
Prepare and post daily journals and month end journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of all month-end function
Assist in the completion of financial statements, management reports in accordance with Corporate Policies & Procedures for review
Assist in the preparation of month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis
Assist departments in the interpretation, orientation, training and analysis of accounting matters
Co-ordinate and ensure that all daily, semi-monthly and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis
Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan, and Monthly Operating Forecasts.
Full Accounts Payable management and general cashiering duties as assigned
Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current and future
Develop an engaged, enthusiastic and guest driven department
Recruit, develop, evaluate and motivate the team
Actively contribute to Hotel’s overall leadership and direction
- Strong computer literacy, with knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong math and quantitative skills
- Experience in balance sheet reconciliations is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills, passionate, strategic and innovative
- Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions
- Thinks critically and objectively; has excellent problem solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions based on business demands
