A Brand New Pharmacy to Open in Late Summer 2020 !!
Hours: This position will work Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm and on-call as needed.
As the full time, exempt Director of Pharmacy with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) at the new Canyon Creek Behavioral Hospital, your initial responsibilities will include setting up a pharmacy in a brand new behavioral hospital. Specific tasks include obtaining pharmacy licenses, accreditation with The Joint Commission, ordering and setting up inventory, pharmacy organization and workflow, formulary management, and operating the pharmacy according to hospital policies, procedures, standards of practice of the profession, and all state and federal laws. Other duties include recommending innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carrying out mutually agreed upon programs.
You will be staffing and overseeing all pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing and controlling activities as the facility grows after opening. You will fill orders with accuracy and maintain security of the pharmacy and controlled substances. In this role, you will begin as the sole employee in the pharmacy and as census increases, expand staff to include additional pharmacists and pharmacy technicians as needed. You will also be on call via telephone when the pharmacy is closed. As a CPS-employed Director of Pharmacy you will have a full support team available to you including experts in pharmacy operations, clinical administration, and regulatory compliance.
About the Facility: Canyon Creek Behavioral Hospital will be a 102-bed, Joint Commission accredited, hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient psychiatric health, chemical dependency and mood disorder services for adolescents, adults, and older adults.
About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy is anticipated to be open Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00am-5:00pm, with planned remote support for after-hours pharmacy services. The pharmacy will utilize the HCS Epharmacy information system which includes computerized physician order entry and electronic MAR’s. Omnicell will be the automated dispensing cabinet vendor to assist with medications in the patient units. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS.
