Director of Pharmacy

Pharmacy Systems, Inc. Manages the Pharmacy at the Saint Joseph Mount Sterling (SJMS) and will hire a Director of Pharmacy  at that site; a beautiful 42-bed community hospital newly constructed in 2011 located in Mount Sterling, 30 mintues E of Lexington, KY just off I-64.


About the Hospital: Saint Joseph Mount Sterling part of KentuckyOne Health, recognizes the importance of family, friends and familiar surroundings during the healing process & services include cardiovascular, maternity, orthopedics, general surgery and hematology/oncology and offers access to more services, resources and health care expertise in more than 200 locations across the states\ and specialists can offer the most comprehensive health care services to Mount Sterling area.


Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and direct the activities of the Department of Pharmacy.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a system of staff development and evaluation to ensure compliance with regulatory issues and to promote optimal patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a system of financial and inventory control according to hospital standards, including preparation, submission and administration of an annual departmental budget.
  • Directs departmental participation in various hospital committees to ensure appropriate representation (including, but not limited to, Infection Control Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Safety Committee).


  • Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing and prior management experience in a hospital setting a plus. 


Hours of operation:  The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 7am-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 7a-11a.  Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of the pharmacy. All Pharmacy staff are PSI employees.
